For Fun
“For fun” is perhaps the best justification for doing things. But can one succeed in a field that they did not get into by instinct? Now the definition of success differs quite a lot, but excelling figures in a discipline or study are usually very passionate about their works, and they will do them without reason, other than just “for fun”.
So when a person does not find a passion, are they doomed to fail? If their passion does not fit in well with the existing careers or cultures, is the blame rightfully on them?
Do humans learn to become passionate about something tangible, so that there is a purpose available to fulfill, or can the passion be something out of reach, unknown to them until some day (or never) in their life?
I feel somewhat guilty, quite irrationally, that I have not (yet) found the purpose of my life, even after observing all the beautiful things and nasty things that make the world interesting (people are things also). I am straying the life I love, without a direction, and the clock is ticking away.
